Community College Cybersecurity Strategic Summit

  • Introduction: The purpose of the Summit is to inform the development of a National Strategy for Cyber Workforce and Education by the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD).

 In collaboration with the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD),

this event is hosted by the National Cybersecurity Training & Education Center (NCyTE) and Whatcom Community College (WCC). 

About the event:

The Community College Cybersecurity Summit will bring together leaders and stakeholders in cybersecurity workforce development including community college faculty and administrators, corporate partners, and government representatives. Participants from the Northwestern region of the U.S. and across the nation will examine what is working, what is needed, and how federal programs may be able to stimulate key identified initiatives and strategies.

  • Motivating and sustaining a whole-of-nation effort to develop the country's cyber workforce
  •  Addressing the shortage of secondary and community college educators in cybersecurity
  • Aligning educational programs and workforce requirements
  • Standardizing data for jobs and Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) codes
  • Expanding & measuring diversification initiatives in cybersecurity at community Colleges
  • Clarifying pathways into cybersecurity careers
  • President's Focus Group: The role and impact of administrators

 Travel stipends will be provided to confirmed participants who need assistance.
