Who Should Attend:

This workshop is funded and tailored specifically for community and technical college faculty members wishing to expand their knowledge, earn an industry certification, and strengthen their ability to incorporate new cybersecurity content in their community college curriculum. This workshop is not intended for students or other non-faculty participants.

About the Workshop:

This immersive workshop equips community college faculty with the tools to integrate operational technology (OT) security into network security and IT programs. With the rise of IoT, AI, and virtualization on the factory floor, IT and OT systems are increasingly interconnected, presenting unique cybersecurity challenges. Over several hands-on sessions, participants will gain a strong foundation in OT principles, tackle real-world cybersecurity scenarios, and design secure IT-OT environments.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Foundations of Operational Technology: Explore core OT concepts including IoT, AI, and virtualization.
  • Practical Virtualization Exercises: Hands-on tools to model industrial processes.
  • Cybersecurity Risks in IT-OT Integration: Identify threats and defense strategies in digitalized OT environments.
  • Real-World Scenario Simulations: Engage in exercises addressing compliance, data communication, and vulnerability management.
  • Comprehensive IT-OT Case Study: Design a secure, integrated environment with applied solutions for cybersecurity challenges.

Workshop participants are expected to actively engage in the workshop by participating in the hands-on activities and interactive discussions.

To be eligible for future funding from NCyTE, you must also complete the follow-up survey which you will receive in approximately 6 months following this training.
