Who Should Attend:

This workshop is funded and tailored specifically for community and technical college faculty members wishing to expand their knowledge, earn an industry certification, and strengthen their ability to incorporate new cybersecurity content in their community college curriculum. This workshop is not intended for students or other non-faculty participants.

About the Workshop:

Designed for community college educators in IT and cybersecurity, this workshop provides a robust foundation in Microsoft Azure to enhance teaching and curriculum development. Through hands-on labs and interactive discussions, participants will gain a solid understanding of core Azure services—from virtual machines and storage solutions to networking and identity management—and learn best practices for integrating cloud computing into their programs.

This course empowers educators to foster innovative, collaborative learning environments that prepare students for careers in cloud administration and the evolving demands of today’s digital workforce. Participants will also explore how Azure aligns with industry certifications and workforce pathways, helping students build in-demand cloud skills.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Foundations of Azure: Core concepts and services, including compute (Virtual Machines), storage, networking (Virtual Networks), and identity management (Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID).
  • Hands-On Lab Activities: Practical exercises designed to build real-world cloud administration and deployment skills.
  • Curriculum Integration: Strategies to embed Azure content into IT and cybersecurity courses, including alignment with certification objectives.
  • Team Collaboration Projects: Engaging projects that demonstrate cloud deployment, management, and security applications in education.
  • Real-World Case Studies: Insights into how Azure is used across industries and how to translate those use cases into classroom instruction.

Workshop participants are expected to actively engage in the workshop by participating in the hands-on activities and interactive discussions.

To be eligible for future funding from NCyTE, you must also complete the follow-up survey which you will receive in approximately 6 months following this training.
