Who Should Attend:

This workshop is designed for faculty, staff, counselors, and advisors who want to integrate AI into teaching and curriculum development. It’s ideal for those interested in enhancing student engagement, streamlining tasks, and preparing students for an AI-driven future.

The session also prepares attendees for the Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals Certification exam (exam cost not included).

Workshop Description: 

This workshop empowers university, community college, and high school faculty, staff, counselors, and academic advisors with the knowledge and tools to effectively integrate AI into their teaching practices and curriculum development. Participants will explore practical applications of AI, including lesson planning, designing engaging and interactive content, creating dynamic assessments, and customizing individualized student learning experiences. Additionally, the workshop will highlight how to enable students to use AI in ethical and productive ways across various disciplines.

Through hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and real-world examples, faculty will gain a deeper understanding of AI’s transformative role in education. They will also explore new forms of student engagement, ensuring responsible AI use in both teaching and learning environments. This workshop prepares educators to harness AI to enhance classroom instruction, streamline administrative tasks, and equip students with the skills needed to navigate an AI-driven future.

  • AI in Action: Explore how AI enhances decision-making, problem-solving, and data analysis across disciplines.
  • Interactive Applications: Engage in hands-on activities showcasing AI in classrooms, administrative tasks, and real-world scenarios.
  • Ethics & Challenges: Examine ethical dilemmas, misinformation, Deep Fake detection, and compliance with privacy and fairness standards.
  • AI-Driven Tools: Learn to design adaptive assessments, create course bots, and implement virtual teaching assistants.
  • Curriculum Integration: Discover strategies for embedding AI into lesson plans to enhance learning experiences.
  • Future-Ready Students: Equip learners with the skills and critical thinking needed for success in an AI-driven world.

Additional Information:

  • Attending only one of the two days is strongly discouraged. The first day provides foundational content and is followed by a day of building artifacts using AI tools.
  • For faculty, please have syllabi and other classroom materials available, as we will be using these to create new content.
  • Lunch will be on your own.
  • Attendees will be required to complete a post-workshop survey. Please watch for a follow-up survey in approximately six months to share how you've applied the workshop content!

The NCyTE Center will not be providing travel support for this workshop.
