CISA is hosting a live webinar at 2 p.m. (ET) on Sept. 30, to introduce our recently released Foundations for Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity: Asset Inventory Guidance for Owners and Operators. We developed this joint cybersecurity guidance in collaboration with three U.S. federal agencies, five international partners, and more than a dozen private sector stakeholders.  

During this webinar session, we will explore how robust asset inventories can help OT operators prioritize vulnerabilities, detect unauthorized devices, improve network segmentation, and enhance incident response capabilities. We will also walk through the steps to build an OT asset inventory and taxonomy—highlighting the specific benefits to operators, especially within small- and medium-sized entities. 

This session will: 

• Present actionable strategies for developing and maintaining asset inventories and taxonomies in OT environments. 
• Emphasize the critical role of asset visibility in strengthening operational resilience, prioritizing vulnerabilities, and managing cyber risk. 
• Encourage peer learning by sharing real-world partner experiences and practical implementation insights.
