Students must attend an Info Session to meet eligibility requirements.</p><p><strong>Virtual Cybersecurity Career Challenge</strong></p><p>NCyTE’s Virtual Cyber Career Challenge offers students hands-on experience in cybersecurity workforce roles. Participants work in teams to configure, operate, protect, and defend a small network of machines in a virtual environment. Past participants have used the challenge to meet internship or co-op program requirements—students should check with their institutions about specific requirements.</p><p><strong>Eligibility</strong></p><ul>    <li>Completion of introductory networking and cybersecurity courses.</li>    <li>Attendance at an information session (required to apply).</li>    <li>Complete&nbsp;<a href="https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Cyberchallenge2025" target="_blank">Application</a>&nbsp;by February 3</li>    <li>Completed instructor endorsement received by February 3</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Cyber Challenge Job Description</strong><br></strong></p><ul>    <li>Develop a project plan for an information system supporting a fictitious business.</li>    <li>Use project management tools for communication and implementation.</li>    <li>Operate a network of nine devices within specified requirements.</li>    <li>Defend their network against penetration tests.</li>    <li>Analyze and report on findings from penetration testing.</li>    <li>Present results to industry experts.</li></ul><p><strong>Meeting Dates</strong></p><p><strong>Section one:</strong><br>February 25 to May 6,<br>11 to 1 pm PST<br>(2 to 4 pm EST)</p><p><strong>Section two:</strong><br>February 26 to May 7<br>5&nbsp;to 7 pm PST<br>(8 to 10 pm EST)</p><p>&nbsp;<hr></p><p align="left"><strong>Instructors:</strong></p><p>Vincent Nestler<br>Senior Personnel,&nbsp;NCyTE Center<br>Associate Professor<br>California State University - San Bernardino</p><p>Andrew Stone<br>Assistant Academic Chair<br>Associate Professor - Engineering, Cybersecurity and Industrial Technology Suffolk County Community College</p>
